HI, I"M SO GLAD YOU HAD A WONDERFUL MOTHERS DAY, YOUR GIFTS SOUND SUPER, "WHAT ARE THEY?" WHAT DO THEY DO? I STILL HAVENT FIGURED OUT THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE, HA

HI GRANNY DOOLEE! OK - THE WIRELESS ROUTER IS A DEVICE THAT MAKES A LAPTOP COMPUTER (ONE OF THOSE FLAT, PORTABLE COMPUTERS THAT OPENS LIKE A BOOK) WORK MORE LIKE A CORDLESS PHONE. THIS MEANS I DON'T HAVE TO BE 'PLUGGED IN' TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET. THIS KIND OF CONNECTION IS GENERICALLY REFERRED TO AS 'WI-FI', WHICH IS THE ABBREVIATION FOR 'WIRELESS FIDELITY.'

THE MP3/FLASH DRIVE IS A POCKET-SIZED DEVICE THAT DOES TWO THINGS: "FLASH DRIVE" REFERS TO THE PART THAT STORES COMPUTER FILES. I CAN USE THIS TO SAVE FILES OR PICTURES OR ANY INFORMATION FROM MY COMPUTER AND CARRY IT AROUND ON THIS LITTLE DEVICE THAT ATTACHES TO MY KEY CHAIN. IT MAKES IT MUCH EASIER FOR ME TO TAKE 'FILES' HOME FROM THE OFFICE, OR TO CARRY AROUND TONS OF PHOTOS. IT ALSO WORKS LIKE A 'WALKMAN' - I CAN STORE ABOUT A DOZEN DIFFERENT RECORD ALBUMS (TODAY, MOST PEOPLE CALL AN ALBUM A 'C.D.', WHICH IS SHORT FOR 'COMPACT DISK') AND OTHER MUSIC ON IT AND LISTEN TO IT WITH HEADPHONES.

YOU ARE RIGHT - THESE MACHINES ARE PRETTY AMAZING!!

WE MISS YOU. XOXOXOXOX

Michael

Ok, what's with the warning on cords? My iron broke, so I bought a new one. The same warning label was on the cord. Now I have these deep moments of calculating how many minutes I'm shaving off my life just to get creased pants.

This is even more disturbing though. I was in Niagara Falls over the holiday weekend. There were four of us and we decided we were going to stop at the Dairy Queen in front of our hotel after dinner (this totally ties into your blurp about ice cream anticipation.) All day I couldn't wait for a vanilla soft serve cone dipped in cherry. Yum! So after waiting all day, I get up to the counter and place my order. The clerk says "I'm sorry, cherry dip is not available in Canada because the ingredients are illegal." Gives whole new meaning to "...so good, it's to die for."

Ok. Now i've taken technology to the next level- i'm writing this from my new blackberry, which is a cell-phone like device with which you can check e-mail or browse the web. It's got this funky little keyboard, which means it is taking forever type this. I refuse to be held responsible for any type-os, however.
